Comments about our practice

With graduation soon approaching, I have spent the last few months gathering and sorting pictures of my son B.  I couldn't help but to reflect on his achievements and accomplishments before and after his braces.  The beautiful smile you created for B enabled him to have the self-confidence to step into many leadership roles.  During his four years of high school he was involved in numerous school activities that required addressing large groups of people.  I know that part of the confidence and self-esteem he needed to be successful in these roles came, in large part, from feeling good about his smile.

I also wanted to take this time to let you know that we enjoyed our relationship with you and your incredible office staff during the duration of the four sets of braces for our three sons and daughter.   Initially I had some apprehension as to how I could manage to keep up scheduling and keeping appointments for all of them while working full time.  I found you and your staff to be family-oriented and the seven years we spent as patients flew by without any problems.  That is something I never fail to share when recommending you to other families.

Congratulations on one of the  finest orthodontic research articles I have seen to date.  Your approach is scholarly, beautifully documented with excellent references, and logical in every respect.   The advice you are giving as a result of your findings is right in line with what I have taught for many years.  I want to enthusiastically congratulate you on a superb effort.  I will certainly be quoting your findings and including them in my new textbook, as they are so beautifully organized and so applicable, not only to the orthodontic specialty, but also to all areas of dental and occlusal analysis.

Your manuscript is an important piece of work relative to all aspects of dentistry that have any relationship to occlusion and/or TMD.  I congratulate you  on the detailed and logical perspective that you set out to analyze.  Your conclusions are thought out scientifically and will be the basis for many future studies.  Perhaps the most important observation is that CR discrepancies  with greater lateral displacement are found consistent with symptomatic  patients.  Your investigation offers a scientific basis to long-held empirical beliefs.  I am sure that the various centers that teach occlusion will find this study to be of immense importance.

Dear Frank,  A few weeks ago our daughter needed to bring a baby picture of herself to school.  As we looked through all of the pictures, I was amazed at how "sad" or "mad" I looked in all those old pictures.  This was not a sad time in my  life, but then it hit me:  it was my teeth.  I hated them so much that I would never smile for a picture.  I was always so embarrassed about my smile.  You have given something to me that has and will change my life forever.  I've smiled more with braces than I ever did before.  I no longer hate it when someone talks to me up close.  You have not only given me beautiful teeth and a beautiful smile, but my self-esteem back as well.  I now have more confidence and belief in myself.  You noticed two years ago that my teeth really bothered me and you took it upon yourself to take care of it for me.  You have made me believe in people again.  I an not able to put into words how I feel about what you have done for me, but you will always hold a very special place in my heart.  GL

I have to tell you a story about the elderly man down the street from us.  He isn't a very good listener--yaks all the time.  Yet every time we see him he says, "Well now--just look at her. Doesn't she have the prettiest smile now since she got those things off her teeth?  She's just beautiful!"  It isn't so bad when no one else is around, but when he stands in front of 20 people at the neighborhood Christmas brunch for his usual announcement, it can be a little embarrassing!  KH

J--this is the orthodontist that we refer to most  in the Worthington area.  He has worked with two of the girls in the office and they just loved him. KB

Now that his braces have been removed, D has a beautiful smile, which he flashes with regularity.  We were so lucky to find a patient and caring orthodontist who eased him through the two year process.  MB
