Thank you for considering Cordray Orthodontics as your orthodontic team. We value your trust and confidence in us and will work to exceed your expectations. Get to know us and learn how our expertise can benefit you. At Cordray Orthodontics we are committed to delivering Truly Beautiful, Radiant Smiles and we are confident that you will receive orthodontic care that will make a difference in your life.

Not Just a Better Smile, But a Truly Beautiful Smile

We understand that our patients want to look better and feel more confident about their smile. Orthodontics can help you achieve a better smile. But to achieve a “truly beautiful” smile takes not only straightening of the teeth, but also paying attention to the shape and position of each tooth and its relation to each other and your face. To accomplish this Dr. Cordray meets with each patient at each visit. Also, Dr. Cordray’s finishing processes go beyond just tooth alignment, by also improving the shape, positioning, and look of each tooth. The result is not just a better smile, but a Truly Beautiful, Radiant Smile. We call it Smile Revitalization.

Welcome Back Letter to Our Patients 5.17.20

Welcome Back Letter From Cordray Orthodontics

To our patients, family, and friends. Welcome back!
Hi this is Frank. As you know, we will be reopening our offices on Monday May 18. This has been a trying time for everyone, but we hope you have all been well and we can’t wait to see your smiles again. We are glad to be back and thank you all for your patience and understanding over the last few weeks. We are back, but unfortunately, like everyone else, we are not back to business as usual. During this interim period, we have put a great deal of time and energy into developing comprehensive, innovative safety protocols, designed to minimize risk for everyone involved. These processes will allow you to receive care that is both comfortable and conscientious.

When you come in contact with our office, our goal is not only to give you the best orthodontic care possible, but also to protect everyone in your circle of family and friends – and to protect our own families as well. We will do this as a team, patients and staff together, strategically, by following procedures that reduce opportunities for exposure and infection.

Currently we are enhancing many of our protocols in response to the virus. These changes are not difficult to make and we will all get used to them in time. But we are aware that they might seem a bit cumbersome at first. ☺ We want to prepare you for this, so we’ve outlined a plan for you to read before we meet again. Here’s what you can expect from your appointment with us in the time of COVID-19:

First, we will call you the day before your appointment to do a short Wellness Screening.
Have you been sick in any way?
Do you have a cough, runny nose, or sore throat?
Do you have a temperature above 98.6?
Has anyone in your house been sick?
Is anything broken in your mouth (brackets, retainer)?
We will ask you these same questions when you come in the office. We humbly ask for your honesty in answering these questions. It will not delay or affect your treatment to wait to see us until after your symptoms (or your family member’s) resolve. Your candor will protect everyone.

Next, on the day of your appointment we ask you to:
Take your temperature, use the bathroom, and brush BEFORE you leave
home. Our restroom and brushing area are not available right now. They are just another site of possible germ accumulation that needs to stay clean for the time being.
Wear a mask! This is a must. If you do not have a face covering, we won’t be able to treat you.
Please keep your phone in your car or in your pocket and do not use it while you are in the office. Phones are germ carriers!
Call Erin when arrive (614.436.7761) and wait in your car until the team is ready for you and Erin calls you up.

We ask that ONLY THE PATIENT come up to office WEARING A MASK OR FACE COVERING. Parents must wait in car: no one will be sitting in the reception area. This is a requirement by the ADA, which recommends that only the patient enter the office. This measure is important because it allows us to keep our reception area empty, which will minimize “germ traffic” in and out of the office. If you are a parent, please trust that we will do everything we can to make it fun and help your child feel comfortable.

The door to our office will already be held open—you won’t have to worry about touching our office door handle.
As soon as you walk in, you will see our Sanitation Station, equipped with hand sanitizer, tissues, and extra masks.
Erin will ask you to “Sanitize your hands.”
She will also ask, “How are you feeling?” and take your temperature with a touchless forehead thermometer.
If you have a temperature, we will need to reschedule your appointment.
If you are feeling healthy and your temperature is normal, Erin will send you back to your chair.
We will need to do all regular appointments as we begin opening up again, to keep your and everyone else’s treatment on track.
If anything is broken like a bracket or retainer, we will do our best to fix it the first time that we see you.

After your appointment, Erin will call you to recap what we did today, take a payment, and make your next appointment. We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you and to give us time to prepare your work area for the next patient. This means that we will be seeing fewer patients per day and that the time between appointments may be slightly longer, meaning 4-8 weeks. Please be patient with us as we adjust to this new schedule—you can be sure that we will do all that we can to accommodate your individual needs.

If you have any questions about the efforts that we are taking, we encourage you to ask. We strive to cultivate a dynamic of transparency, honesty, and trust, and it is important to us that you feel secure in our office.

Please know that we truly appreciate your patience and understanding and as always, we also value your loyalty to our orthodontic family. We are excited to welcome you back and work together with you as a community to help keep each other safe.

With warmest personal regards,
Frank, Erin, Kim, and Whitney

Speed and Convenience are Important

Dr. Cordray understands that everyone wants to be in and out of braces as quickly as possible. Accordingly, Dr. Cordray achieves some of the shortest treatment times by meeting with each patient at EVERY visit. The result is that you will get your braces off faster and with fewer visits.

People, both children and adults, are busy, especially today. They don’t like to be kept waiting and we schedule accordingly. Our goal, which we take very seriously, is to be 100% on time.

Braces, No Longer Just For Children

A large number of adults and children get braces and other forms of orthodontic treatment each year. We have patients from as young as 3 years old to as young at heart as 87, with all ages in between. Although we place an emphasis on interceptive and corrective procedures for children, about 40% of our patients are adults who are excited to make the improvement in their smile that they have always wanted to make.

Yes, we do Invisalign.

We are certified by Align Technology to provide Invisalign orthodontic treatment. One of the reasons that I have been reluctant to embrace the technique is that since its inception clear aligner therapy has had some issues with both certain kinds of tooth movements and overall occlusal finishing, which resulted in longer treatment times and lacklustre smiles. However, I feel that today we have the ability and expertise to overcome some of the problems that have plagued the technique in the past regarding both speed of treatment and accuracy of correction.

I understand that there are a number of patients, especially adults, who desire some level of correction without having to use conventional braces. Here at Cordray Orthodontics we are committed to providing our patients with both their best Invisalign experience and result. While Invisalign may not be the first choice for moderate to severe cases, we will give you all of the information that you need to make an informed choice.

Thank you for considering us for your Invisalign needs pre-treatment, mid-treatment, and post-treatment.

Younger/Healthier Smiles

Like our younger patients, our adult patients are concerned about the aesthetics of their smile. With that goal in mind, Dr. Cordray goes beyond just the positioning of the teeth by utilizing additional techniques that also help create a younger looking smile. We call it Smile Revitalization.

Also, many of our adult patients have concerns regarding bite problems and/or restorative needs. Some patients complain of headaches, jaw pain amd wear caused by a poorly designed bite. Dr. Cordray utilizes methodologies that help improve the overall functioning of the jaw joint and shape and function of each tooth to help them work better and last longer.

Honest, Straight-forward Communication.

We are aware that some dental and orthodontic practices make tooth problems seem dire, life and death, and immediately urgent. In contrast, Dr. Cordray will give you an honest assessment of your orthodontic problems, present you with a number of alternative treatment plans, give you reasonable pricing and realistic treatment times. Surprisingly, our estimated treatment times are often significantly less than you might expect.

Finally, we are not in the business of selling orthodontics. We respect your privacy and right to choose and will give you all the time you need to consider your orthodontic options. As Dr. Cordray always says, “No one ever died of crooked teeth.” But we are here for you if and when you are ready to take this significant step in your life.

Pragmatic Approach

We provide the highest level of orthodontic treatment but we don’t ask our patients to pay for video games, large screen tv’s, or a lavishly decorated waiting room. At Cordray Orthodontics we put the emphasis where it should be – on you and your smile. We do use the highest quality orthodontic equipment available (even though much of it is behind the scenes). But we will work closely with your dentist to ensure that x-rays and diagnostic services are not duplicated. We want you to see the Cordray difference in your beautiful smile, not in your pocketbook!

The Cost of Orthodontic Treatment

If you are like most people, you may be concerned about the cost of orthodontic treatment. We truly understand your concern. At Cordray Orthodontics, we have been in practice for more than 27 years and over the years we have learned what is important to achieving a truly beautiful result in the shortest amount of time possible / in orthodontic treatment / care and what are unnecessary expenses.
Dr. Cordray believes that cost should not be an obstacle to a healthy, beautiful smile. There are many ways to pay for orthodontic treatment.

We welcome second opinions.

It is in your best interest to get several opinions regarding your proposed orthodontic treatment. We routinely give them and they are free of charge. If you are facing a decision about major dental treatment and would like a second opinion, we are happy to provide this service. Combining cosmetics and functional dentistry and orthodontics is an art form and requires that your health care provider(s) have the specialized training needed to achieve your desired outcome.

Conservative Treatment

On a case by case basis, Dr. Cordray not only presents you / each patient with your / their treatment options, but also advises you on how to achieve the most economical, least invasive, and shortest treatment plan for achieving the desired results. For instance, while many younger patients can benefit from early orthodontic correction, others are better served by waiting and treating in one short phase instead of two.

Invest in Education & Equipment

Dr. Cordray and his staff also invest in continuing education to keep current on the latest research and treatment. Dr. Cordray is one of the country’s most well-respected orthodontists. He teaches at The Ohio State University in the Department of Orthodontics. He has received numerous honors and awards in the field of orthodontics. Read more about Dr. Cordray…
