Retainers

After completion of your braces treatment, teeth still have a tendency to move throughout our lifetime. Accordingly, a retainer is required to keep teeth aligned. Retainers can be permanent or removable retainer. Dr. Cordray can discuss the benefits of either approach, but we prefer to place “permanent” retainers at the time of braces removal. They are passive wires bonded behind your teeth like the braces are bonded to the front of the teeth, so they are not visible when you talk or smile. But the main advantage is that they are in 24/7. Thus we feel that they are the best way to protect your investment of time, energy, and money to get your teeth straightened.
